HOW I CURED VULVODYNIA

What is Vulvodynia?

According to the Mayo Clininc it's pain, down there, "for which there is no identifiable cause." Well I did identify the cause. For me, it was a diet high in oxalates - you can read all about that here.

I cut out the oxalate foods and fixed my problem - no prescription necessary.

It took about 6 weeks to be completely pain free. Since then (It's been going on two years) I've added all high oxalate foods back into my diet with no reoccurring symptoms. 

Eat 

Protein: 

  • Any and all

Veggies (in order of regularity):

  • Cauliflower
  • Brussel sprouts
  • Asparagus
  • Romaine lettuce
  • Peas
  • Zucchini
  • Acorn squash
  • Cabbage

Fruits:

  • Apples - no skin
  • Avocados

Other:

  • Sunflower seed butter

Dairy

  • Any and all - if you eat dairy I recommend only buying organic (commercial is full of nasty hormones and antibiotics)

Alcohol

  • Wine

Pretty sparse but it did the job.

Here are the foods that I specifically avoided while eating low-ox

Avoid

  • Sweet potatoes
  • Beets
  • Spinach
  • Beer
  • Raspberries
  • Soy
  • Eggplant
  • All nuts
  • Chocolate
  • Cinnamon
  • Tea of any kind
  • Whole wheat anything
  • Green bell peppers
